Skin types vary from normal type right through to sensitive

There are various types of skin which need a different type of regime to look after them. To find out your skin type check the following:

Normal Skin

This is the best types of skin as it is neither too oily nor too dry. There are few imperfections and is tolerant of most things with very little sensitivity. The complex is generally radiant compared to that of other skin types. Pores are barely visible.

Oily Skin

This type of skin is oily in appearance and has enlarged pores making it look dull and thick. The main problems arising are spots and blackheads. An oily complexion appears dull. Hormone imbalances and stress can make this type of skin worse. This type of skin needs to be washed gently rather than scrubbed, with a washing and cleansing regime which does not clog pores.

Dry Skin

This type of skin feels tight and has fine wrinkles and patches. Dry skin appears de-hydrated. Pores are barely visible and the complexion is dull in appearance. As it can be so taut, there is noticeable less elasticity than normal skin. At a severe dry level it can appear rough and itchy and even prone to becoming cracked.

It can be made worse by the wrong types of medication and beauty products such as certain soaps which can dry it out even more causing further irritation. It gets worse with age, severe hot or cold weather, indoor heating, medication,.

Reduce the amount of times you wash, use mild shampoos, and soaps without scrubbing. Moisturise regularly

Combination Skin

This type of skin has a healthy colour. Although it appears to be smooth, there is dryness on areas such as the cheeks and oiliness on the T-zone. (The T-zone consists of the forehead, nose and chin.) Furthermore this type of skin can appear normal on other parts of the face. It can also be prone to blackheads and appearing shiny in certain areas.

Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin can break out with the wrong types of products being used. It can cause havoc by becoming itchy, red, swollen, dry and generally making you feel and look irritable.

The best way to deal with this is to find out if it is a certain food that brings on the allergic reaction or a certain type of product used on the skin. Best to try simple products in this case.

For general skin care, whatever your skin type remember the following tips:

  • Generally,                                                                                                                       a) the drier the skin, the smaller the pores and                                                             b) the oilier the skin, the larger the pores.
  • There is no need to invest in expensive products.                                                   Even a basic regime can keep your skin at an optimal level, looking beautiful and luscious.
  • General skin routine needs to incorporate usage of water and simple wash. A regular wash followed by the use of a moisturiser and the complete removal of make-up at the end of the day ensures clean healthy skin.
  • Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.

As Maya suggests, people may not remember you for anything else but they certainly remember the way you treated them. So beware how you speak to others and how you treat them.

Treat other people as you would expect to be treated yourself – with kindness and respect. Do this on a regular basis and it becomes a habit which other people admire.

Never hurt anyone intentionally

Use life experiences to teach you to be kind to other people and to make them feel good instead of invoking hatred or other negative emotions. Putting someone else in a good mood will boost your own good mood.

If you choose to be kind to others, you are passing on positive vibes which have a ripple effect of filtering into the lives of people. Each time you interact with other people, think about the consequences. How do you want to be remembered? If it is in a good way then pass on a good vibe that the person can remember you by.

When other people make you feel negative, instead of lashing out, stop and be thankful that you did not allow this negative vibe to affect you. You stopped it in its tracks. Turn to something better to improve your mood if you find it hard to do so with your thoughts alone.
